KazNU switched on double-diploma education programs first. Educational programs with issuance of double diplomas and international certificates were implemented successfully together with universities of America, Europe and Asia.
This indicates a high competitiveness of KazNU in the world educational space.
International academic mobility of students of al-Farabi KazNU is one of the basic conditions for the formation of a high level of modern specialists, competitive on the domestic and international labour market.
The objectives of academic mobility of KazNU are training, exchange of experience, improvement of the quality of research, transformations in the academic environment and learning the culture and traditions of other countries.
KazNU successfully cooperates with more than 400 largest universities in the world. Annually, more than 150 well-known foreign scientists give lectures, consult and share the scientific experience at KazNU. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, great Britain, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Estonia, USA etc.

Al-Farabi KazNU was the first to join the program "United Nation Academic Impact" in Central Asia, aimed at supporting ten internationally accepted principles of the UN relating to human rights, literacy, sustainability and conflict resolution.
KazNU spearheaded a global hub of UN program UNAI on sustainable development in 2014., University become a Central Asian hub for sustainable development programme UNESCO / UNITWIN in March 2014.

KazNU became the only universities in the CIS, who managed to open the section at the Global UN summit on sustainable development "RIO + 20", which was held in 2012 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
Al-Farabi KazNU is the only universities in the CIS, who received the right to conduct a separate section devoted to the ideas of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev - "Global energy – ecological strategy development" and "Green bridge".
The University has become one of the most active venues in promoting the idea of sustainable development at G-Global platform.
For more active involvement of youth in the study of problems of sustainable development in collaboration with Columbia University has been opened and successfully operates a masters programme on sustainable development "Global Classroom".
The University is a leader in the Republic of Kazakhstan on participation in EU Programmes - TEMPUS, Erasmus Mundus, which allow to better adapt the basic principles of the Bologna process and to make academic policy of the University close to European standards. There are 9 TEMPUS projects, 7 projects of Erasmus Mundus, al-Farabi KazNU is the co-coordinator of 3 projects.
